David is recently retired from playing and is now a member of the officiating team. He is a referee in the American Hockey League as well as the Ontario Hockey League.
David played his minor hockey back home in New Liskeard. He first moved to the Waterloo Region at 17 to play for the Kitchener Jr. Rangers U18 AAA team. He then spent time in junior hockey with the Wellesley Applejacks, Elmira Sugar Kings and Guelph Hurricanes before playing 2 years in the NOJHL with the Elliot Lake Wildcats where he served as an alternate captain. He then played 3 years in the OUA at Laurentian University before the program was cancelled. He spent his last season playing at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids in Michigan in 2021-2022.
David has been skills and power skating coaching for over 10 years. He has also served as an assistant coach at the Junior A level with the Rayside Balfour Canadians. In 2022, David was Director of USA Hockey Camps for Planet Hockey and ran youth skills camps across the United States. David has worked with players from all skill ranges.
David holds an Honours Bachelor’s Degree of Commerce in Sports Administration from Laurentian University.
David is an avid golfer in the summertime when he is away from the rink.
